Art galleries in Las Cruces & Mesilla
12 galleries, artist co-ops and working studios, grouped by neighborhood so you can park once and walk. Hours change, so call ahead when the listing says to.
Old Mesilla
Adobe walls, a 19th-century plaza and more galleries per block than anywhere in the valley. Park once, walk everything, stay for dinner.
Mesilla Valley Fine Arts Gallery
A juried co-op of about 30 southern New Mexico and West Texas artists, on the Plaza in the Fountain Theatre building. Painting, photography, woodturning, gourds, ceramics, glass and jewelry, and the artist minding the counter probably made half of it.
Daily 10am–5pm
Agave Artists Gallery
An artist-owned co-op in the historic Josefina's Old Gate complex, steps from the Plaza. Painters, sculptors, photographers and jewelers from across southern New Mexico, plus a meditation garden worth lingering in.
Hours being confirmed. Call ahead.
The Potteries
A working pottery studio a short walk from the Plaza, in business since 1986. Bill Cook's earthenware lighting, thrown from clay he digs himself, Janice Cook's porcelain and sculpture, and Jeanne Rundell's paintings.
Hours being confirmed. Call ahead.
Galeri Azul
A Plaza fixture since the 1990s. Ever-changing folk art and gifts off a courtyard that usually has music drifting through it.
Mon–Sat 10am–6pm, Sun 11am–6pm
Downtown & Main Street
Main Street is the beating heart: two free City museums side by side, galleries a short walk apart, and the monthly First Friday Ramble pulling it all together.
The Mad Hatter Gallery
Contemporary art and community programs on Main Street, and one of the busiest walls downtown. On now: Leslie Toombs, The Language of Wire, through Nov 21, 2026.
Wed–Fri 11am–5pm, Sat 10am–2pm, plus First Fridays
Las Cruces Arts Association Gallery
The brand-new members' gallery of the Las Cruces Arts Association, which has been around since 1962. About 20 local artists in painting, photography, ceramics, fiber and metal. Opened October 2026.
